I’m writing about what y experience was like to start Dry Skin Brushing. Here’s What I wrote on my 9th Day of Skin Brushing:
So I need to get over it and I’m not. Week One is done, so let’s see how I feel.
- Can’t think
- Sick to my stomach constantly
- Not hungry or else starving
The last few days I’ve been feeling Rheumatoid Arthritis symptoms, like sandpaper on my bone surfaces and achy, but now I’m sore from ice skating, so I’m not feeling that now.
I’m constantly slouching over to the left and holding myself rigid. I haven’t done that in forever. I know that means I am in a lot of pain.
Edit April 2013: Ouch! Reading that hurts me. If you are holding yourself rigid in pain from this, try stretching:
So, I know I’m going to do this Dry Skin Brushing every morning, and I dread it and worry about it all night and wake up about it.
I feel sunburned when I move. I feel like I want this weird yogurt thing my mom used to put on my horrific sunburns as a kid.
I’ve been using Olay and going out in the day a bit. I think it will help, I just don’t want to.
I just left everything and barely wrote or thought for the weekend. I tried not to look or pay attention to skin brushing with not too much success, but I was able to stop looking for anything good. Hmm… That was a Sensory Processing thing
about focusing only on the negative, which I’ve for sure been doing. I’m going to really pay attention tomorrow and try to get through this better.
I haven’t been feeling to see if my circulation gets a “jump start” as mentioned in my reading about Dry Skin Brushing. I will try to look for that feeling tomorrow.
The world is divided into people who don’t think you should do Dry Skin Brushing on your face, and people who do it and swear by it, so I’m trying it. I liked my Clarisonic® pretty well, and it had plastic, which now I don’t feel too good about. I’m still going to use it until I find a good face brush.
I read this and remember how exhausted I was from the negative side effects by this point. Again, I will say I wish I had started more slowly. If I had been Dry Skin Brushing every 36 hours instead of every 24, things would have gone better.
I’m also shocked to read that I was not feeling the circulation jump start. That is certainly a major part of it today for me. I think my Technique Breakthrough has made a positive difference.
I have a few more posts coming soon before Dry Skin Brushing became a natural part of my life. Here is Day 10 and more:
